‘An alienating, stupefying audio-visual experience’

RESET is an abstract work that explores the interaction of light and sound and the experience of light, colour and sound modulation in an artificial “landscape.”

The composition reflects the relationship between abstract sonic and visual material, exploring the specific qualities to establish distance as well as intimacy, creating an effect that is both pervasive and inescapable.

Like most of Granular Synthesis works, RESET uses huge video projections, three-dimensional sound and subsonic frequencies to produce an alienating and stupefying experience.

RESET was one of the featured works in the Austrian pavilion during the 2001 Venice Biennale.

“’ Een vervreemdende, onderdompelende audiovisuele ervaring’’


RESET is een abstract werk over de interactie van licht en geluid; de beleving van modulatie van licht, kleur en geluid in een kunstmatig ‘’landschap’’.

De compositie weerspiegelt de relatie tussen een abstracte sonische en visuele materie en handelt over hun specifieke kwaliteiten om afstand danwel intimiteit te creëren, om zowel binnendringend als onontkoombaar te zijn.

Zoals meestal bij het werk van Granular Synthesis, wordt ook bij RESET met behulp van grote video-projecties, een driedimensionale geluidssfeer en subsonische frequenties een vervreemdende en onderdompelende ervaring gecreëerd.

RESET werd ingezonden voor het Oostenrijkse paviljoen van de Venice Biennale 2001.
